Microchip Demand Remains Weak

The market is still in the phase of clearing Microchip inventory, with common items such as the KSZ and USB series maintaining high stock levels. Throughout October, demand for Microchip products has been relatively soft, with purchases limited to small batches or individual units. For general-purpose materials, customers favor scheduled orders, while factory clients are preparing for production plans up to a year ahead, aiming to lock in prices early to optimize costs.


NXP: Tight Supply of MCUs and MOSFETs

Overall demand in NXP's spot market has remained stable. However, shortages in some MCU and RF MOSFET lines are noticeable. Key demand areas include China and the Asia-Pacific, driven by the rapid shift in the Chinese automotive industry toward electrification, smart technologies, and autonomous driving, boosting the need for NXP's automotive semiconductor products.


Onsemi Targets Chinese Automotive and Energy Storage Markets

Onsemi is strengthening its presence in China, focusing on automotive and energy storage markets as strategic priorities for 2025. Additionally, Onsemi highlighted the rising energy consumption in AI data centers, which mirrors the growth of EVs, emphasizing the importance of efficiency in this market.


Renesas Faces Shortages in Discontinued Products

Renesas' overall demand remains low, centered on industrial control and communication fields. Current shortages are evident in some discontinued series, including ISL, HD64, and M30. For standard materials, customers are showing patience, opting to wait 3-12 weeks or more to receive their products.

Vishay Invests in NWF Wafer Fab

Vishay plans to invest £51 million in the NWF wafer fab in Wales, which it acquired from Nexperia earlier this year. This funding will support the development of power devices and a transition to SiC power devices, enhancing production capabilities.
