A focus on Combination Therapy

The Primo Combination 860 offers dual-frequency ultrasound (1MHz and 3MHz) and the complete range of neuromuscular stimulation outputs  (NMES) that can be used individually or simultaneously in combination therapy. The Primo Combination 860 unit provides 4 pole and 2 pole interferential therapy as well as a wide range of other electrical stimulation waveforms.

By combining ultrasound with interferential therapy, you can benefit from the advantages and effects of both treatments while using lower intensities. This combination reduces or even eliminates the body's tendency to get used to (or accommodate) the interferential therapy, which can diminish its effectiveness over time.

Here are the main advantages of this combined approach:

Enhanced Treatment Efficacy: Combining different therapies can amplify the therapeutic effects, leading to more significant and faster improvements in patient outcomes. For example, using ultrasound with interferential therapy can enhance pain relief and tissue healing more effectively than either treatment alone.

Reduced Accommodation Effects: Patients often develop tolerance to interferential therapy over time, which can reduce its effectiveness. The addition of ultrasound can help minimize or eliminate this accommodation, maintaining the therapy's efficacy throughout the treatment course.

Precise Targeting of Lesions: Combination therapy allows for more accurate localization and treatment of lesions, especially chronic ones. Ultrasound can pinpoint the exact area needing treatment, ensuring that the therapeutic effects are focused where they are most needed.

Effective Treatment of Deep Lesions: The synergy between ultrasound and interferential therapy enhances the ability to treat deeper tissue lesions. Ultrasound waves can penetrate deeper into the tissue, while the interferential current stimulates healing processes, making it ideal for complex or deep-seated conditions.

Improved Patient Satisfaction and Compliance: Offering combination therapy can lead to better patient satisfaction due to the enhanced effectiveness and faster relief from symptoms. This can improve patient compliance with the treatment regimen, leading to better overall outcomes and a stronger reputation for your clinic.

In summary

Incorporating combination therapy into your clinic's offerings can provide more comprehensive and effective treatment options, leading to better patient care and clinical success.
