Food Stores
Yesterday I wrote something about fast food restaurants and the kinds there are. An article that I either wasn't going to do or to write it in one of my blogs but low and behold I wrote it anyway for this site. Tomorrow I am going to talk about a different topic that is not related to retail but none the less has something to do about business. So be on the lookout for the individual article that I am going to put out. But for today I am going to talk a bit about food stores. The types there are along with a bit of history on them.
So to start with I am going to talk about their history since there have been around since I was a child. I remember them being small and not as big but big enough in providing enough food for most customers. It was just an ordinary place to shop back then where it just had fruits, vegetables, meat and other products that most customers bought. It didn't have any restaurant atmosphere settings like today where most customers sat and ate their meals and drank their juices.
Also what I do remember are the cash registers and how they looked back then. It had a lot of old buttons and screens where it was easy to hit the buttons in order to ring in their items for sale. Now today food stores have registers that are computerized where they now have monitors that are used on computers and the buttons changed a bit. Maybe in the old days they used scanners to scan the items. I am not sure I will have to do more research on it but I am sure that the buttons have changed from when I went into a store.

They have big food stores like Co-op, Real Canadian Superstore, Sobeys and Walmart in Canada while in the USA they have stores like Kroger's, Safeway, Albertsons and Piggly Wiggly where most customers shop as well. While for most customers looking for just a few items and don't want to shop big, they have convivence stores like Circle K and 7-11 to help customers that want to shop small. Even though convivence stores are small, some items in these stores are more expensive than the bigger stores I have mentioned.
So food stores do vary depending on the customers shopping habits and preferences since there are some customers that want to shop for a lot of food and this is where big food stores can help with this. While there are other stores like convivence stores where most customers just want only one or two items since costs can add up making convivence stores costly places to shop for food. But what I am finding out is that the price of food in these big stores are becoming expensive too.
So I will end this post with those thoughts.
