Founder's Note 6
When I first dove into the world of NFTs, I assumed the most valuable art I would find would also be some of the most futuristic and intricate. Instead, what I came across were a few different types of cats, alien creatures, and pixelated portraits that had been valued at astronomical prices…and they weren’t even 3-D! What in the world was going on? I couldn’t believe what I was looking at, and at the time, I couldn’t understand it.
What made these pieces so valuable compared to the rest? It definitely wasn’t the detail in the art, the popularity of the artist, or even the celebrity status of the owners.
I found an explanation in the most unexpected place; Clubhouse. A room titled “How To Value NFTs” to be exact.
The answer to my question ended up being unbelievably simple – community!
Each one of these seemingly random NFTs belonged to an NFT community that gave value, not only in NFT Price, but in information, exclusivity, merch, education, and experiences.
All of a sudden, Bored Apes and those pixelated CryptoPunks portraits began to make sense.
As we continue to build One of None, we’ve developed our app to have community at its core – creating seamless integrations that will forever change how artists, collectors and producers collaborate and communicate while consolidating the safety of Web2 with the uncapped nature of Web3. We’ve applied everything we’ve learned in Web3 into an app that cultivates ownership and decentralization as the main focal points for community growth.
One of None is here to build a new bridge between the tangible and digital, and we could not have done this without you.
