Four Essentials For Business Growth This Quarter

Four Essentials For Business Growth This Quarter

To thrive as a business owner in 2025, it’s crucial to narrow your focus to four key factors. This year, let's keep up the momentum starting strong and setting the tone for success.

Our question is: What will it take for your business to thrive in 2025?

1. ACCOUNTABILITY:

Is it important for a leader to be accountable? Is it necessary for you to write out your goals for the month, and your to-do list for the week and share it with your team (just as you expect them to do)?

Yes. Because your people will take their cue from you. If they see you executing, they'll also execute.

This sort of accountability has not crossed your mind because everyone is accountable to you and you feel that you, as the leader, need not answer to anyone. But drop that thought for a moment and consider what it would do to your employees to see you, at the end of the week, ticking off the things you said you'd do. When you crack down on an employee who's not doing what they ought to, you'll even have more credibility because you'll be able to refer to the tasks you set and completed.

So work on making yourself accountable to your team. With everyone's weekly tasks outlined, always make yours.

2. PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:

Are you commending or only correcting? I've spoken with employees who shared that their demotivation stemmed heavily from the fact that when 90% of things are done right, no comment is made by the leader. But for the 10% that don't go right, they get an email to the effect, of threatening suspension without pay or an outright sack if it should happen again.

Of course, it's necessary to correct mistakes as behaviour needs to be guided, but it's also important (so important) to offer commendation where it's due. And when the negative feedback must be given, present it in a way that the work well done is also acknowledged.

Still on people management, should the career growth of your people matter to you? Should it be a core business objective to have your workers thrive in your employ? Yes. The answer is yes. If you need help with this, book a consultation with me.

3. RESEARCH:

Industry insights, are you aware? What your competitors are doing, do you know? The beauty of social media is that you can keep up with industry peers, keep up with your customers and clients, and keep up with the social beat of your business environment. You can know what's going on at every point.

Make research a key part of your processes this year. It should take the lead while every other thing follows behind.

4. MARKETING.

Take this very bull by its horns. The most resounding (the loudest) business is the one people will recall when they need that product or service while the “best” business may remain in obscurity if it is not widely known.

Marketing is the life of any business. So be loud about your solutions. Find out where your prospects are and push your product into their consciousness.

This is not the year to play small!

Cheers to you, business owner! I'm here to see you thrive.

Have a great week ahead,

Omo, I’ve been intentionally practicing the art of giving commendations, and it’s a game-changer! I have this team member who tends to underperform whenever she’s harshly corrected. So, I decided to take a different approach—I wrote her a heartfelt note acknowledging her amazing work ethic and sent it to the team's group chat. The commendation was so powerful, and the results were even better. I’ve realized she thrives on praise, and her performance improves significantly when she feels appreciated. Understanding what drives each team member and acknowledging their emotions can make a huge difference in how they show up at work. It’s a lesson I’m holding onto! Thanks allot for this amazing insight Nkechi Alade

See that commending and not just correcting part? Mr. Jerry Bamigbayan sits gallantly on that table. And that accountability part strikes a personal nerve. 🌻
