Four Factors Shaping Our Future

Four Factors Shaping Our Future

As CEO of Dream.Org, I’m always looking ahead. We want to find a way through turbulent times and tilt the scales toward fierce unity and freedom and dignity for all.

How do we make sure human dignity thrives in the midst of the jockeying for position?

At the moment, I am fixated on four factors which are rapidly shaping our future:

  1. The economic world war: a war being fought with dollars instead of weapons in a way we haven’t quite seen before – with both nation-states and international corporations involved. How do we make sure human dignity thrives in the midst of the jockeying for position?
  2. Ecological collapse: There is no problem in the world that does not become 10 times worse in the face of ecological collapse. We’re talking about more than greenhouse gasses – topsoil erosion, failing oceans, species extinction. How can we avert the catastrophe and emerge better?
  3. Democratic decline: We’re seeing authoritarian and even fascist movements on the rise around the world. Worse, authoritarian instincts are growing even within established democracies and political parties. How do we offer an inclusive vision for the future as an alternative?
  4. Technological revolution: Both opportunity and threat. From ChatGPT sparking new AI conversations to the blockchain, 3D printing, and everything in between. How do we harness technology to close prison doors and unlock doors of opportunity?

The only sure thing is that if we keep doing things the same way tomorrow that we did them yesterday, we are bound to fail. So, what trends are you tracking? What is on your list? What is missing from mine?
