Frankfurt: the smallest major metropolis in the world!
Frankfurt recently breathed spirit into the old town by building the city center in a medieval style. Meanwhile, the city of Dresden has rebuilt the famous Frauenkirche Church from ruins. The basic principle: the basic buildings are being restored to their original form, and the gaps between them, filled with modern remakes of the old models.
You can relive German history by visiting the place where the kings of Germany were crowned for hundreds of years, i.e. the Frankfurt Cathedral, which for many years was the tallest building in the city. Today there are countless modern tall buildings and skyscrapers.
You can also visit the Caesar Sal Gallery in the Römer Hall. In the past, the Emperor's Hall was a royal venue suitable for the coronation of German emperors and countless city officeholders. Today, 19th-century images depict about 52 German emperors, beginning with Charlemagne (who was crowned in the year 800) and ending with Franz II, who abdicated in 1806. It was rebuilt in a more modern style.
During your city tour, you can have the opportunity to rest on the River Main, which passes through Frankfurt in its name and course. Moreover, with one of the river cruises of the Frankfurt cruise lines, you will be able to discover Frankfurt via this famous waterway. The trips can last up to 2 hours, as they depart from the "Eisern Steg" bridge and return to it.
Frankfurt is a realistic model of how you can rebrand a city.
