FREE Creative Recharge Webinar - Tuesday 23rd May at 7pm.

Over the last few days, I’ve been putting considerable time and careful thought into the printed booklet that will contain all the quotes, exercises, distinctions and diagrams that will form a key part of the programme content of the Creative Recharge Programme that I’m hosting with Bloem De Wilde de Ligny 12th-15th June in Mayfield. We’ve also started planning the first official group webinar of the programme that will be taking place on Weds 24th May at 7pm UK plus a FREE bonus webinar the night before that.

Though I’m no stranger to designing curricula (as many of you know I was a secondary Head of Music for many years), this is the first time I’ve ever designed an online-residential hybrid programme specifically for musicians, artists, coaches, and entrepreneurs and I’m extremely excited about the amazing group of 7 creators we already have signed up for it. Even with all my experience, it’s already been a steep learning curve. One of the things that quickly became obvious to me, that wasn’t obvious when I first started talking with people about the Creative Recharge Programme, is that when some people heard the phrase ‘creative retreat’ (which is what we initially called it), in their mind, they compared it to (or internally created it as) some kind of mindfulness or yoga retreat, or a retreat where you spend a few days away from your everyday life, getting some green time doing some painting, drawing or writing songs around a campfire. Now don’t get me wrong - there is definitely a place for these kinds of retreats, but with the help of one of my coaches, Ankush, I quickly saw that what Bloem and I were actually creating was a powerful transformational PROGRAMME rather than just another retreat.

One of the key ideas behind the Creative Recharge Programme is the assertion that whether or not you consider yourself ‘creative’ (which to some people might mean you like to draw and doodle, to others it means you’re an entrepreneur, to others it means you’re in a band and others it means something else entirely), EVERY SINGLE person has areas of their life where they are not yet fully harnessing their limitless, innate creativity.

For the people who don’t already work professionally in the arts, such areas might be most obvious – they may want to be more actively engaged in art, music, design, dance, comedy. These are the kinds of people who might say ‘I’m not creative’. What they actually might mean, however, is that they want to be more regularly writing music, finally finishing and publishing that book they started, showing up powerfully as the rockstar top-performer they know themselves to be, or finding a way to practise their music around a busy family and work life.

For those already working in the arts, however, their areas for creative development may be a little less obvious to them, because on the surface they may not ‘count’ as creativity.

Many professional musicians and artists are very competent and confident in a relatively narrow use of their creativity as it relates to their craft, but whilst on the one hand they may consider themselves a ‘creative’, they may also find professional relationships challenging. They may not have a very solid grasp on their own finances. They may have very fixed thinking around what may be possible for them in the next 5 years. They may have issues with their health, business or productivity habits. They may feel contained by very negative self-talk. They may be extremely cynical and judgemental about the state of the industry they work in. They may take life, business career or relationships way too personally and seriously. They may be their own harshest critic and be sabotaging their own progress as a result.

Our assertion is that each of these areas can be transformed and recreated by tapping into or ‘recharging’ your innate creative energy.

These are just a few of the topics we’ll be exploring in the Creative Recharge Programme, and in the next few days I’ll be sending off the final notes for the booklet to Felipe Bernardo to get it ready in time for June.

So whether you’re going to join us for the Creative Recharge Programme in person or not, here are a few ways you may want to join us in this exploration of your untapped creativity:

1. Consider some of the areas of your life where you have already enjoyed creating. Maybe you’ve created a career you love, a loving family, maybe you’ve created a level of mastery in a particular skill. Take a moment to acknowledge yourself for some of the creations you’ve already completed.

2. Now, as you read the post above, consider which of the areas mentioned most speak to you and spend a few moments answering these questions:

Where would you most benefit from a ‘creative recharge’ in your life, and what specifically would you love to create? You may find it helpful to make some notes in a notebook or journal.

Why is it that you haven’t managed to create this until now?

What has been stopping you?

If we were to wave a magic wand, what would be a dream-come-true outcome in the area(s) you selected?

3. I am going to be sharing a selection of quotes from the booklet, designed to get you thinking in a whole new area about 5 of the most common creative blind spots people have around: the creative flow state, relationships, habits, enrolment and finances. If you’d like a more detailed preview of what we’ll be covering, just pop a comment below.

4. Bloem and I will be running a 90-minute zoom session on the Tuesday 23rd May at 7pm where we’ll be doing Q and A and a live coaching demo all around the topic of creation and expanding your creative horizons. Bring a pad of paper and be ready to have some shifts in your thinking. If you’d like joining details for this session, please let me know in the comments below - this is an open, free workshop for anyone who'd like an experience of what we'll be covering in June.

5. If you’re curious about actually joining us live for the programme itself, or you already know you’d like to claim your spot (only 5 left), drop me an email at info@nickbottini.com to apply.

Thanks for reading
