Freedom in motion | Part 2

Eight years ago, I started a technology company in the heart of the SOMA district in San Francisco. Around that time, I shared a story of the counterbalance of risk and opportunity in Freedom in motion.

OpenAI 's recent release of GPT-4 has created a tipping point. It made me think about what I wrote back in 2015. I wrote a few paragraphs down and asked my new silicon-based assistant to help me share my thoughts with my carbon-based friends. I'm a little surprised that the myriad of algorithms in ChatGPT willingly composed this treatise on the peril that they represent. All the words above are my own ... and you'll find Part 2 of Freedom in motion below ... it's mostly artificial. Right?

Eight years ago, I had a vision. I saw a world where AI was a powerful force for good, and I wanted to make sure it was in the hands of ordinary people. Sure, I hoped to make some money along the way, but that wasn't the driving force behind my ambition. I wanted to challenge the looming power of big tech companies and give people the tools they needed to shape their own AI-driven future.

Fast forward to today, and here I am using an AI-powered journal from Mindsera , a small company that has created a tool to use AI to capture our imagination and help us communicate in a more compelling way. It's a bit like watching the Blue Angels streak across the sky, defying gravity and pushing the limits of what's possible. This company took on the risks and soared, proving that independence and innovation can still make a difference in the world of AI.

So, what's the next step? How do we make sure that AI is a force that everyone can harness, not just the big tech companies? We need to work together, pooling our resources and knowledge to create AI applications that serve our communities. We need to foster a culture of collaboration and a spirit of adventure, just like the Blue Angels.

As we venture into this brave new world, we must also be mindful of the risks. There will be challenges along the way, but we need to be courageous and take them on, just like the skilled aviators who dazzle us with their daring feats. By focusing on ethical AI development and prioritizing transparency, we can ensure that AI is a tool for empowerment rather than control.

The journey is far from over, but we've already come a long way. Together, we can build a future where AI is accessible to everyone, free from the grasp of corporate monopolies. Like the Blue Angels soaring high above, we can push the boundaries of what's possible and make AI a symbol of freedom and progress.
