Fresh Dog Food Market at a CAGR of 5.13% During the Forecast Period 2023–2031

HelloFresh, the prepared meal box firm, introduced a luxurious pet food brand, as it expands into a new category.

Startups that provide human-grade food have taken off, as pet owners want to treat their pets like family members by feeding them better food. As a result, these types of products by the company create a positive influence on the global fresh dog food market. In addition, according to a research report published by Astute Analytica , the Global Fresh Dog Food Market is expected to grow at a #cagr of 5.13% during the forecast period from 2023 to 2031.

The Pet Table is a brand that will provide human-grade, air-dried, and fresh dishes made for dogs. According to The Pets Table CEO Laurent Guillemain, “the brand will make use of HelloFresh's direct-to-consumer competence, particularly in the area of subscriptions, as well as its manufacturing, technology structure, and marketing capabilities. In addition, the subscription model is effective for pet food because it is a frequent, large buy.

How does it function?

Customers have a choice of four plans, including air-dried, fresh, half-fresh, and mixed, all of which are designed to satisfy the dog's caloric requirements.

  • The dog food was created by the company in collaboration with nutritionists and veterinarians. It is made with human-grade ingredients, undergoes minimal processing, and is cooked at a low temperature.
  • These dog meals are shipped directly to customers' doors, just like the HelloFresh model.

What comes next?

The firm said that “it will concentrate on operational growth and gathering client feedback in the beginning.”

Guillemain said that “the company intends to examine other related product lines in the future, such as treats.”

According to a survey by Pew Research Centre, almost 51% of pet owners claim they treat their animals like human family members.

Present situation:

Pet nutrition and care have attracted a lot of investment attention due to the "humanization" of pets and the repeating nature (repeat purchases) of pet ownership.

  • Maev, a brand of human-grade raw dog food with headquarters in Austin, Texas, raised US$ 10 million in a Series A supported by VMG Partners.
  • Bond Pet Foods, a Boulder, Colorado-based firm of plant-based pet foods, raised US$ 17.5 million in Series A funding from a group of investors that included Cavallo Ventures, Genoa Ventures, and Archer-Daniels-Midland Co. venture.
  • Bundle x Joy, a pet nutrition firm situated in Glendale, Arizona, earned US$ 1 million in seed funding with participation from Mars Petcare Companion Fund, R/GA Ventures, and Leap Venture Studio.
