From 20 Years of Doubts to an Unstoppable Comeback - What's next for this Woman?

From 20 Years of Doubts to an Unstoppable Comeback - What's next for this Woman?

She always had big dreams. The kind that made other people roll their eyes because they didn’t dare think as big as she did. One of her earliest was property investment. Not just any property—she wanted to own hotel rooms around the world. Imagine it: a place to stay wherever she traveled, earning money even while she slept. It was perfect.

She shared her vision with her partner, but his response shut her down. “Hotel rooms? That’s not a solid investment.” Just like that, the dream fizzled out. She didn’t fight for it. Back then, she didn’t have the confidence to push back.

A few years later, she and her partner decided to take their first step into the property market. They bought a run-down house in the suburbs and tackled the renovation themselves. It was brutal—dust everywhere, tools scattered across the floor, and months of living in chaos. But they did it. Slowly, they turned the house into something they could be proud of. It was hard-earned success, and it lit a spark in her. She knew she wanted more.

Their next move was bigger—and bolder. They found a new business opportunity and decided to move to a small town to live a better lifestyle. For her, it was completely foreign. She had never lived in a small town before and didn’t fit in. The locals kept to themselves, and she always felt like an outsider. Still, she did her best to adapt, trying to make their new life work.

They rented out their suburban home and bought a property in the small town. But this time, it wasn’t a good investment. She hadn’t had much of a say in the decision, and deep down, she knew it was a mistake. The property didn’t perform, and they ended up carrying a weight they couldn’t afford.

By 2016, her dreams of financial freedom felt like they were slipping further and further away. Then she attended a seminar that reignited her hope. Robert Kiyosaki stood on stage and said something she couldn’t forget: “The toughest time on this planet is here. It’s going to happen, plus or minus three years, and if you’re ready, it’ll be the best time of your life. If not, it’ll be the worst.”

It hit her. She wasn’t ready, but she wanted to be. At the seminar, a property developer talked about house flipping, and her excitement came rushing back. This could be the opportunity she’d been waiting for. When she got home, she suggested taking a course to learn the ropes. But her partner dismissed the idea immediately. “Flipping houses? Too risky,” he said. So she dropped it. Again.

Not long after, he came to her with a new idea: Bitcoin. He was convinced it was their golden ticket. And honestly, it sounded promising. She believed in him and supported the decision. They poured their savings into Bitcoin, and for a while, it seemed like they’d struck gold. The value climbed, and so did their hopes. But then, just as quickly, it all came crashing down.

The worst part? Without telling her, he’d moved all their savings into an even riskier scheme. When it failed, they lost everything. All the money they’d worked so hard for—gone. She was devastated. But what could she do? She picked herself up and kept going because that’s what she’d always done.

For the next year, she threw herself into coaching others, helping people build their own dreams while she tried to rebuild hers. She earned about $2,000 a week and kept their household afloat. Meanwhile, her partner didn’t work at all. That was partly because she needed him to help out while she worked hard, and also because he hadn't found the right position.

By the time things stabilized, she was burned out. Completely drained. Her partner took over the load, and she gave herself permission to step back and heal. During that time, she wrote a book—a labour of love that became a #1 bestseller. But she didn’t have the energy to market it properly. It was another missed opportunity.

Then Covid hit. Like everyone else, she had to adapt. She tried everything she could to make money and contribute, juggling one venture after another. None of them skyrocketed, but she kept trying. Along the way, she organized the purchase of their first investment property, handling every detail herself—real estate agents, mortgage brokers, building, conveyancers, settlement teams. All her partner had to do was sign on the dotted line. That property became cash-flow positive from day one, proving she had what it took to succeed in property.

She kept going. She managed her partner’s now-thriving business, handled his taxes, made sure the kids had everything they needed, and contributed to the household budget every single week. But she also kept pouring energy into her ventures, hoping one would finally take off. For two years, she slogged away, doing the hard yards.

Then, recently, her partner came to her with a pointed question: “It’s been six years. When are you going to have something successful?” "You pour hours into this thing and the ROI just isn't cutting it for the work you do!"

It stung. After everything she’d done—the sacrifices, the sleepless nights, the heavy lifting—it still wasn’t enough for him. But instead of letting his words break her, they fueled her. Property flipping had come up again, and this time, she wasn’t asking for permission.

She had just organized their second property purchase entirely on her own. Every detail, every step—it was all her. She dealt with the real estate agents, mortgage brokers, inspectors, and conveyancers. All her partner did was sign the papers. If she could do that, why couldn’t she flip houses? She knew she could. And this time, she had the confidence to do it—with or without his support.

So now, the question isn’t whether she can succeed. She knows she can. The real question is, will he finally see what she’s capable of? Or will she have to go it alone?

The Takeaway Sometimes, the biggest obstacle isn’t the world around you—it’s the voices that tell you to stay small. Whether it’s someone else’s doubt or your own, it’s easy to believe the lie that you’re not enough. But this story proves one thing: you can rise above it. You can chase your dreams, even if it means going alone. Because in the end, your success isn’t about their approval. It’s about your determination to make it happen.
