From charging points expansion to launching a new variant: 4 key announcements made by Ola Electric CEO
Ather Energy rival Ola Electric's CEO Bhavish Aggarwal, on Friday (February 2), made four key announcements across products, service, charging network and battery warranty.
1. Expansion of fast-charging points
EV giant Ola Electric revealed its plans to expand its charging network across the country. The EV maker aims to increase its fast charging points from the current 1,000 to 10,000 by April this year.
The expansion will target high streets, residential areas, fuel stations with existing partnerships, and key inter-city routes, facilitating both long-distance and urban EV use.
2. Adding a new variant to the S1X series
Ola Electric has introduced a new variant to its S1 X scooter series, the S1 X, which the company claims to have a higher range and affordability.
The top version of the S1 X comes with a 4kW/hour battery that can go up to 190 km on a single charge, and it's priced at Rs 1,09,999.
Ola has also launched lower-priced versions with 4 and 2-kWh battery packs, costing Rs 89,999 and Rs 79,999, respectively.
3. Scaling service centres
To support its growing customer base, Ola Electric plans to increase its service centres from 414 to 600 by April 2024 with an aim to address most service requests within a day or two.
4. Unveiling new warranty policy
CEO Bhavish Aggarwal said Ola Electric's new battery warranty policy will offer an eight-year warranty to ensure significant resale value even as the battery nears the end of its lifecycle.
