From Our Graduate Scheme to Corporate Sales: George's Story

George Ogden , take us through your career journey at TC so far. How long have you been at TC?

I joined TC in November 2021 on the Business Graduate Program which is a rotational scheme that would allow me to move around the business gaining experience from various departments. Prior to joining I studied Business Management at MMU and worked part-time at McDonald’s whilst completing my studies.

What role(s) have you been doing so far?

The roles/departments I have experienced include Operations (Triage and PSS), Finance (Travelled Debt project and VCC team), Corporate, and Phenix Insight Team (project).

What prompted you to apply for a full-time position at Travel Counsellors? And what will your new role be moving forward?

The graduate scheme gave me exposure to various sides of the business, whilst completing this I was able to work within the Corporate team in which I was able to gain an interest in business travel and working with Corporate TC’s. My new role in the business is Sales Enablement Lead, Corporate.

What is your favourite part about working at TC, what makes TC a great place to work? 

Conference was one of my highlights at TC so far, being able to speak with our TC’s as well as work closely with all colleagues throughout the weekend was great. TC has a great culture with many experienced colleagues who are happy to help with any queries I may have

How do you hope to make a difference in the role that you do?

I hope to provide support to the sales team, BDM’s and TC’s to drive new business and I am focused on settling into my new role and expanding my knowledge on the Corporate Travel industry.
