Fuck Yes or Fuck No?

Fuck Yes or Fuck No?

A Bold Approach to Designing Your 2025

Yesterday, I had the privilege of attending another transformational workshop with Kasia Urbaniak. Over the course of five hours, we dove deep into exploring what 2024 had taught us and what we wanted 2025 to bring. The structure was deceptively simple: identify our “Fuck Yes” and “Fuck No” moments from this year, then consider how those choices could shape the future.

It was illuminating.

One of my biggest realisations was how little I reflect on the past. I live predominantly in the now - I’d say about 80% in the present moment, with the remaining 20% vaguely future-focused. The past? Practically a blur. When prompted to think back on the events of 2024, I was struck by how much I struggled to remember specific moments, let alone the lessons they might hold. (Luckily, I take loads of photos and religiously put all appointments in my calendar).

It’s a strange and slightly unsettling thing to realise about yourself, especially in the context of a workshop designed to leverage past insights for future clarity.

Kasia briefly mentioned Janus, the Roman god of beginnings, endings, and transitions. Depicted with two faces, Janus looks simultaneously into the past and the future. He embodies the liminal space of reflection and anticipation - the doorway between what was and what’s to come.

In many ways, the exercises Kasia led us through was an invitation to channel our inner Janus. By identifying the “Fuck Yeses” of 2024. - the moments of alignment, joy, and purpose - and contrasting them with the “Fuck Nos” of frustration or disconnection, we were being asked to reflect and project. The question wasn’t just What did you learn? but What do you want to take forward?

For someone like me, who spends most of her time immersed in the now, it was a powerful reminder of the value of reflection. Yes, living in the moment is often celebrated (and rightly so), but there’s wisdom in pausing to gather the lessons of the past and use them as a compass for the future.

As we head toward 2025, I’m making a conscious effort to spend more time honouring the Janus perspective. I want to capture the lessons of 2024 - not just the highlights, but the hard-won insights from the “Fuck Nos” too. What patterns have served me well? Which ones no longer fit the life I’m creating?

This exercise has also given me permission to dream more expansively about the future. If my default setting is now, maybe I could lean into the 20% of my mind that imagines what’s next and make it a little bolder, a little brighter.

So, as the year winds down, I invite you to reflect:

  • What were your Fuck Yeses in 2024?
  • What were your Fuck Nos?
  • And what kind of 2025 do you want to create based on what you’ve learned?

The past, present, and future are all connected, and Janus reminds us that balance between them is where the magic happens. I’m up for carrying the lessons forward and stepping boldly into the new year.

I have decided to make 2025 a year of deliberate, wholehearted Fuck Yeses.

And What Else is Happening?

1. Good Girl Deprogramming Podcast

In this festive episode of the Good Girl Deprogramming Podcast, I had the pleasure of sitting down with the dynamic duo Tiffany Scott and Alex Morgan, co-hosts of the Mambition podcast. Our conversation was refreshing, honest, and often hilarious as we explored the realities of ambition, motherhood, and the invisible mental load that Christmas brings.

Together, we unpacked the societal “shoulds” that weigh us down during the holiday season and shared how we’ve each redefined Christmas for ourselves and our families. From rejecting perfectionism to letting go of people-pleasing, this discussion is all about inspiring you to do Christmas your way.

If you’ve ever felt like you’re doing all the things at Christmas while others just “show up,” this episode is your reminder that you don’t have to carry it all. This year, give yourself permission to delegate, do less, and prioritise your joy.

Tune in and make this December a season of your choosing! 🎄

2. WTF (Women Talking Facts)

This week, Felice and I had our final WTF of the year, we discussed all the incidences of patriarchy and misogyny we had spotted this week. Was an emotional one.

You can watch the replay here.

We will be back in 2025, you can catch up with all episodes here.

3. Signing off for 2024!

As we wrap up 2024, I want to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you. Thank you for reading, reflecting, and thinking differently alongside me. Whether you’ve joined me on this journey through workshops, the podcast, or the book, your engagement and support mean the world to me. I feel so grateful to have such an inspiring community of people who are willing to challenge the status quo and create a brighter future together.

I’m now officially on holiday and will be back on 5th January, refreshed and ready for an exciting 2025! In the meantime, I wish you a wonderful holiday season, however you choose to spend it. Whether it’s Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, a peaceful Yule, or simply a cosy winter break, may it be filled with joy, love, and a little bit of magic.

Thank you for an amazing year, and I look forward to continuing this journey with you in the new one! ✨

Lots of love x
