Are you crystal clear on these 4 things?

Effective fundraising requires crystal clear clarity on at least four things:

  1. The problem you exist to solve.
  2. The unique solution you offer.
  3. The impact that proves your solution works.
  4. The invitation to join you.

If you’re going to be a generous beacon to help people easily find you, you need crystal clear clarity on all four.

Problem. Solution. Impact. Invitation.

These are your signal flares.

These four words ought to be seared into the minds and printed on the back of the business cards of every person responsible for fundraising.

They should inform everything you do.

Why?

Here are a few questions people tend to ask before making a decision to give:

  1. Is the problem you solve the same problem I care about?
  2. How will my gift help solve the problem?
  3. Can you prove your solution works?
  4. What step are you inviting me to take to join you?

People rarely ask these questions out loud, but they’re usually there... just beneath the surface... every time you invite someone to give.

If you consistently answer these four questions (in your communications, on your website, and in your conversations with givers), generosity will take care of everything else.

Problem. Solution. Impact. Invitation.

Are you crystal clear on yours?

Totally agree here! What are some real-world examples of this being done really well that you’ve seen?
