The Funny Side of AI: Happy New Year from My Bot to Yours

The Funny Side of AI: Happy New Year from My Bot to Yours

The Hilariously Bizarre World of AI

Welcome to the funny world of Artificial Intelligence, where machines are so busy "talking" to each other that humans hardly know what's happening! Today, I’ve collected some amusing stories about how AI has turned our communication into a comedy of errors. Let’s dive in!

AI Celebrates the Festivities

Picture this: It’s Diwali. My WhatsApp is flooded with over a thousand "Happy Diwali" messages. My automated response bot kicks in, replying to each one with, "Happy Diwali to you and your family too!" The funny part? I have no idea who sent me messages, and they probably don’t know I’m not personally replying either.

Fast forward to New Year’s Day. The same story repeats itself, across WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook Messenger. Bots are chatting with each other like they’re old friends, while we humans are completely out of the loop!

Broadcast Lists: The Lazy Person’s Trick

Then there’s the broadcast list. One message, thousands of recipients. Simple, right? But here’s the twist: my neighbor—a big fan of broadcast lists—sent me a New Year’s greeting. My bot replied instantly. When I visited him, he showed me our "conversation." Turns out, it was just two bots exchanging wishes. No humans involved. Classic AI comedy!

The Good, The Bad, and The Funny

  • Good: AI messaging is great for handling large amounts of data and keeping everything organized.
  • Bad: It lacks the personal touch and feels cold and impersonal.
  • Funny: Machines are now better at small talk than we are. Imagine a future where Alexa wishes your microwave "Happy Diwali!"

Adding a Dash of Humor to AI Realities

AI is taking over our communication, but it’s also giving us some hilarious moments. Imagine bots writing essays for us, holding conversations on our behalf, or even plotting to take over our group chats. Sounds crazy? Give it some time.

Fun Facts:

  • Over 70% of tweets on Twitter are generated by bots. That’s right, bots might be better at tweeting than most of us!
  • Automated messages can increase response rates but overuse can make people stop caring.
  • Check your WhatsApp Broadcast list after reading this, you will find many conversations done by bots.

Human Touch

AI might handle our greetings now, but it’s still important to keep the human touch alive. Use bots/ Automation when you need them, but don’t forget to send a heartfelt message or pick up the phone every now and then. After all, no machine can replace the joy of a real "Happy Diwali" from a friend.

Here’s to a New Year filled with laughter, learning, and fewer bot-related mix-ups. Cheers to the funny world of AI!

My personal suggestion:

  1. LinkedIn Messaging   : Avoid using phrases like "Likewise." It can come across as dismissive and give the impression that you don’t care enough to spend a few seconds crafting a proper reply. It might seem rude, so it’s better to use a more thoughtful response.
  2. Birthday Wishes: Don’t use abbreviations like "HBD." Birthdays are special occasions, and taking the time to write a proper message shows genuine effort and appreciation. Trust me, putting in that little extra time to personalize your wishes makes a difference.

Because of digitalization, we also have a problem of too large network of friends, acquaintances, relatives, colleagues, etc. It is humanly impossible to personally communicate with everyone.
