Fusion92’s Future Series Hosts Mark Achler
Yesterday, Fusion92 hosted a new Future Series segment with guest speaker Mark Achler in our Chicago office auditorium. It was amazing to see our clients, vendors and employees fully engaged by Mark’s insightful reflections and anecdotes. For those who weren’t able to attend, here’s what you missed.
As a former leader at Apple and senior vice president at Redbox, Mark is an icon in product innovation and product launches. He is managing director of MATH Venture Partners and teaches entrepreneurship at Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and is also a frequent speaker, resource and ardent champion for the entrepreneurial community as a mentor for TechStars and Chicago Tech Academy.
Mark’s talk, “Empathy Rules,” outlines three steps to integrating empathy into business: understand that it’s not about you, do your homework and bring a gift. Empathy at its core is the awareness of the feelings and emotions of others. In business, the most successful people are those who put the needs of others before their own.
