The Future of Mouthguards
According to the American Dental Association (ADA), One-third of all dental emergencies are sports-related.
Furthermore, over 200,000 oral injuries are prevented each year by wearing a mouthguard.
They protect our youth athlete's lips, tongue, face and help redistribute forces from a blow to the head.
Whilst a mouthguard can’t be guaranteed to prevent a concussion, it can certainly reduce the severity of the injury.
The PowerPlus Mouthguard has taken this a step further than any others, with a proven and battle-tested record of being able to reduce the risk of concussion to 0.2%.
Unfortunately, many sports and organizations don’t necessarily see the need for them, require them or even encourage them.
Helmets, kneepads, and shinpads are a no-brainer when it comes to protecting youth athletes in most sports, so PowerPlus is taking the initiative to spread the word on the importance of mouthguards.
The American Dental Association recommends wearing custom-mouthguards for the following sports:
Acrobats, Basketball, Boxing, Field Hockey, Football, Gymnastics, Handball, Ice Hockey, Lacrosse, Martial Arts, Racquetball, Roller Hockey, Rugby, Shot-Putting, Skateboarding, Skiing, Skydiving, Soccer, Squash, Surfing, Volleyball, Water-polo, Weightlifting, and Wrestling.
Some dental experts recommend Softball and Baseball be added to this lift and that all the above should include both training and competition.
The vision of the PowerPlus Mouthguard is to become the “Go-to” mouthguard for as many of these sports as possible, as we don’t just reduce concussion, we enhance performance for youth athletes by up to 16.8% and that is a game-changer.
