Microsoft is looking to bring Xbox Game Pass, the subscription service that made $2.9 billion in 2021, to rival platforms Nintendo and PlayStation. Xbox’s CFO Tim Stuart iterated the strategy to bring Game Pass to “every screen that can play games” during the Wells Fargo TMT Summit. Stuart explained during the summit that Game Pass has grown to be a major source of revenue for Microsoft, so bringing the service to other platforms aims to strengthen that stream.

The release date and time for the first trailer of Rockstar’s long-awaited next installment of the Grand Theft Auto series has been announced for December 5th at 9am ET. Rockstar’s announcement blew up on social media—garnering 30 million views on X in two hours. The art for the announcement features palm trees and a Miami—or Vice City—color scheme, teasing toward the game’s setting.

Riot Games’ Social Impact Fund initiative, which launched in 2019 with a goal to enhance player’s ability to empower their communities, reached a $50M milestone. The money comes from sales of in-game products, including the 1000th League of Legends skin, Dawnbringer Karma, which generated $6M alone. Contributions have been made to more than 450 organizations around the world in 28 different regions. In 2022, Riot hosted a vote where players could decide where Dawnbringer Karma’s funding went, resulting in a turnout of over 775,000 voters that chose from 84 charities across 28 regions.
