Gen X Women Are Facing a Crisis...and we are not taking it seriously

Gen X women are facing a mid-life crisis.

Gen X women, born between the early 1960s and early 1980s, are struggling with a unique set of challenges that often go unnoticed. Societal expectations, financial pressures, and the stress of juggling multiple roles lead to increased anxiety and sleeplessness among this generation.

This generation is caught between the responsibilities of caring for aging parents while also supporting their own families. With the added burden of job insecurity, financial instability, and societal pressures, it's no wonder these women find it difficult to relax and enjoy restful sleep.

It also doesn't help with the impact of the current political climate on Gen X women's mental well-being. Whether it's been the #metoo movement, the overturn of Roe vs. Wade, restrictions on oral conception, and lack of consistent care towards women's health conditions like menopauses, can contribute to heightened worry and anxiety.

The combination of these factors creates a perfect storm for sleep deprivation and perpetual worry among Gen X women. They often find themselves on a continuous treadmill of responsibilities, struggling to find balance and solace in their lives. Sleep becomes a casualty of their relentless pursuit of success, their commitment to caring for others, and the unrelenting pressures of modern life.

For myself, I have taken a more active role in my health care. I am more aware of how my lack of sleep affects my work abilities and day's outcomes. I always struggled with my sleep routines, but never concerned myself as I was younger and my body could spring back into action more easily. Or I was in a perpetual fake it til you make it lifestyle...which many Gen X women have perfected this approach.

This is why I have created the ALIGNED AF Community. It's an online experience that collectively acknowledges the concerns and experiences of Gen X women entrepreneurs.

By doing so, we can work together to create a more supportive entrepreneurial community that empowers women to put their body FIRST, reduce worry, and embrace this stage of life with renewed vitality...along with growing their business.

Wishing you restful nights and a worry-free future.

DM me to learn more about the ALIGNED AF Community, including one-on-one and group coaching, and my upcoming retreat on Bowen Island, British Columbia from January 12-14, 2024.
