Get Rid Of The Imposter

According to the International Journal of Behavioral Science, "imposter syndrome" is believed to affect an estimated 70% of people in the U.S., at some point in their lives. I believe that the pandemic has given imposters and frauds a reason to get rid of the mask and live a different lifestyle that allows them to be authentic. Good, bad, or indifferent, humans deal with and manage their emotions in various ways. Subconsciously, there are people in the workplace that make our environment difficult to work in because they are trying their best to be present, while emotionally they may be struggling because they're introverted, or a person who doesn't handle conflict well, or even someone managing their anxiety. I am so glad to see the focus shift by corporations and small businesses into the space of mental health and wellness. Entrepreneurs are their own human resources department, and as the owner, they manage themselves, while holding themselves and others accountable, even when dealing with their own identity. Keeping a safe environment where team members can thrive is critical. My hope is for businesses to develop written policies and procedures to ensure that the mental wellness of their team members is on par. Try Ginger.com for on-demand mental health coaching (app). No insurance is required.
