The Ministry of Communications and Digitalization, has officially launched the country’s National Cybersecurity Policy and Strategy (NCPS). The policy aims to build a resilient digital ecosystem, secure digital infrastructure, develop national capacity, deter cybercrime, and strengthen cooperation.

According to the Bank of Ghana, The total value of mobile money transactions in Ghana reached GH¢1.775 trillion in the first eight months of 2024, marking a substantial increase from GH¢1.031 trillion during the same period in 2023.
This sharp rise highlights the growing role of mobile money in deepening financial inclusion across the country.

The demand for digital banking solutions remains strong, according to the 2023 Payment Systems Oversight Annual Report, The total number of Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) deployed by banks across Ghana reached 2,287 by the end of 2023, reflecting a modest 1.4% increase compared to 2022.
In contrast, Point of Sale (POS) terminals experienced a significant decline, dropping by 6.91% to 12,491 by December 2023. There’s more.

The KNUST Technology Consultancy Centre (TCC) is set to provide support for transforming research findings into products as indicated by the Director-General of the TCC Professor Francis Davis who believes the move is an avenue for wealth creation.
"TCC has the capacity to transition research findings into products, we believe that what comes out of our research labs, centers of excellence, and universities should become multi-billion-dollar companies in the shortest possible time.”
