Giant steps toward the energy of the future ⚡

Hello everyone! We arrive at another week with more great green news. The past month has been very busy, as we presented our financial results. We are very proud to announce that we are moving forward with our strategic plan 🙌🏽 

Summary of results 📑 

👉 We allocated €11 billion across the world in the last year towards the Energy Transition 🌎. 

👉 We increased our renewable capacity to 41,300 MW (with the installation of 3,100 new MW in the last 12 months). 

👉 We increased net profit by 17% in the first nine months of 2023: €3,640 million at the end of the third quarter of 2023, meeting the objectives of the Strategic Plan ahead of schedule. 

Regarding our projects: 

• Boost to the network business, with 85% of supply chain agreements already in place to cover networks investment through to the end of 2025.  
• Growth in offshore wind with 5 projects under construction and energy already being produced and sold. 
• New pumped hydro projects to boost large-scale renewable storage. 

We are seeing the benefits of our pioneering vision, as we continue to meet the objectives of our Strategic Plan ahead of schedule. Thanks to all those who have contributed towards Iberdrola achieving these milestones 👏.

Champion of renewable energy, the Spanish giant Iberdrola, foresees a very rapid boom in renewable energy. - LES ECHOS

French media outlet LES ECHOS interviewed our executive chairman, Ignacio Galán, to talk about the future of energy. In the interview, Mr Galán discussed how Iberdrola has, for 20 years, invested in renewable energy and storage to bring an end to the use of fossil fuel.

Renewables around the world 🌎: España

We received a very special visit to our green hydrogen plant in Puertollano: BlackRock ! They wanted to discover more about the development of innovative solutions that are helping transform the industry. 

The plant represents an important milestone in the development of green hydrogen and consists of a 100 MW photovoltaic solar plant and one of the largest electrolytic hydrogen production systems in the world (20 MW). 🙌🏽 

New agreements 🔝

Iberdrola completed the agreement with Masdar (Abu Dhabi Renewable Energy Company) for €1.6 billion, to co-invest in the 476 MW German Baltic Eagle offshore wind farm located in the Baltic Sea.

🤝 After obtaining regulatory approvals, we have closed the agreement for the wind farm, which will have 50 wind turbines, and enough energy production to supply 475,000 families. This will offset 800,000 tons of CO2 emissions each year.
