The Gift of Men: Why Building Relationships Is the Key to Success
Dear Reader,
It feels like ages since I last wrote to you!
A lot has been happening so fast, and if you’ve been following my LinkedIn posts, you’ll understand.
I remember I was supposed to write to you last Sunday, but I had one of the best (and longest) naps ever, so I couldn’t. Today, I couldn’t miss the chance to write to you. That’s why I grabbed my notepad right after church to share something interesting.
Today’s message is a little different—because it applies to you, even if you aren’t a nurse!
But before I begin, I’d love to recommend a book written by Haoma Worgwu. Please do yourself a favour and get a copy by checking out her profile or reaching out to her directly.
What I’m about to share is inspired by the contents of her book.
Let’s dive in...
Before I became intentional about building my brand on LinkedIn, I used to prefer my own space about 80% of the time. You’d likely find me reading a book or doing my own thing. You might think I was antisocial, but I just enjoyed my space more than hanging out with friends.
That changed when I started my online business in 2022. I realized that to succeed in business, I needed to connect with people. I started reading books by Myles Munroe, and his teachings, especially about “dying empty,” really stuck with me.
He explained the importance of fulfilling the mission God created me for—leaving no potential unused. This made me deeply passionate about impacting lives. I often ask myself: When I’m no longer here, what will people say about me? That’s what I live for.
But then, I asked myself: What exactly do I have to offer the world? What unique gift or talent was I born with?
Over time, I’ve learned that we may never find all the answers in life, and that’s what makes life a journey—a continuous discovery that pushes us to seek knowledge, light, and greater achievements.
I set three goals when I joined LinkedIn on March 14 this year:
1. Advance my nursing career
2. Build a network of quality relationships
Recommended by LinkedIn
3. Share what I know while learning from others
As someone who understood the importance of relationships but lacked a strong network, I chose LinkedIn as my go-to platform.
These three principles from The Morning Star have been particularly relevant to me:
Have you ever heard the phrase “The Gift of Men”? When God decides to bless you, He does so through people.
The core message in today’s letter is about building relationships that stand the test of time. These relationships have truly helped me, and like the three principles, it all starts with you.
What’s one thing you do so well that the world needs to see?
It could be something small that you’ve been ignoring. Position yourself (through branding) so that when people are searching for that talent, product, or service, you’re one of the top choices.
I’ll end by saying:
Whatever you’re doing now, be intentional about it. There’s still so much more out there for you (and me, too!). Celebrate your past victories and look out for the next opportunity to maximize greatness.
Until I write to you again, stay safe and remain blessed.
