Give to gain not to lose

Give to gain not to lose

Introduction:

"Give to gain not to lose." We have so many proverbs and positive motivational quotes that talk about the gain that we have through giving. But what happens practically when it comes to us that we need to give something to somebody? This article delves into the attitudes we possess when we give, and the attitudes when we don't give.

Attitudes of Giving:

Key attitudes to giving come from a mindset to help somebody, support, guide and sometimes even seek attention. This mindset encompasses a spectrum of positive attitudes, notably collaboration and open collaboration, prompting us to contemplate not just what to give, but why, and how to best serve the recipient's needs. Cultivating such attitudes forms the bedrock of a fulfilling giving experience.

Attitudes to Avoid While Giving:

Majorly people think that I need something in return. Why that is not happening? I have always been giving giving and nobody bothers about giving me. I am only giving everybody. It is a very natural attitude and it cannot be called a selfish attitude because our habits have always been to have two hands, one to give and another to take. This habit can be a good one. But this may be one of the defeating factors for us.

Transforming Attitudes:

So how to change this attitude? We always feel that, you know, by giving we lose our knowledge, our competency. We may be undervalued or, you know, we will lose our importance in society or the place. But many times it has happened that helping somebody or serving somebody, has gained more attention. Rather than losing the attention, we get more visibility and the outcomes are also highly valuable.

Conclusion:

Reflecting on personal experiences within a multinational corporation, imagine encountering a colleague who hesitates to share insights on a challenging project. Instead of mirroring their reluctance, visualize stepping forward, offering assistance, and freely sharing knowledge with others. Through this commitment to generosity, I've personally witnessed accelerated growth. This experience underscores the profound truth: by giving without reservation, we not only uplift others but also propel ourselves toward greater success and fulfillment.
