Giving Back

It is juiced up Monday for me, the Time-Lord!

A brief note to start your week and get the juices running. Over this last weekend as the Time-Lord I was busy giving something back. I have been videoing one of the annual Santa Dashes that is put on by folk from the Florence Nightingale Hospice.

I met with the real life Santa who had dropped by to support the fund raising efforts of those of all ages who were running and raising money for the vital work of the Hospice.

I have chosen a couple of charities that I have an affinity with. Firstly the work of this hospice and secondly, a local food-bank run by a local church. I am more than willing to support these causes, but why?

There is the obvious reason that such support can be beneficial in the garnering of publicity. But, if this is your main motivator for supporting charities and good causes, then stop now. There needs to be more. For me I just want to support causes that are helping people out who find themselves in difficult circumstances that are often no fault of their own because it is the right thing to do.

Do you give back to charities in your local area? Do you give away some time or products to worthwhile causes? What motivates you to do this?
