God the Son (logos)

Even the second person of the triune of which we are part is largely unknown to us but this is the part that I feel most comfortable to discuss.  Logos is the member of the trinity that we can see, feel, sense or perceive. It is the reality that is known, probably that can ever be known to us. Our discussion is not meant for the theology of the logos or any part of the trinity, we must recall, but the implication of the trinity’s idea (as illustrated in the gospel of John) to the welfare of nations. We will nevertheless, try to explain this second member of trinitas, employing science for the benefit of those who are wary of dogmatism.

Theoretical physicists, over the years, have improved on Einstein’s principles of relativity, which explains why a man seating inside a train may not be able to judge correctly, the velocity of that train or why two men standing like 40 miles apart may not be able to agree on the exact time that a bird crashes into the tower that is between the two of them. Human perception of reality is relative because they live, as some will put it, in bubbles.  Humanity may never learn how to make unbiased judgments not only because they reside only a tiny session of their own reality but also because that reality itself is dynamic (interested readers should read about primary substances, especially the String theory). I will leave further analysis to qualified persons, but not without mentioning that modern quantum physics (indeed, Stephen Hawking) may have explained the theology of incarnation as written in the gospel of John by playing at his recent theories.

We have every logic and science on our side when we echo the words of John that Logos originated from the father to give birth to everything that was created, including us. Logos, therefore, is the manifestation of the father. He is, according to the Christian doctrine of Trinity, God in our own reality- a different person, but still the same God. John said nothing was made except by Him. Heraclitus said He is everything we can perceive- and war and peace and hunger and fullness. We will resume our discussion in full gear as we are now very close to having all our required ingredients. All we need do from this point forward entails simple substitution or rearrangement of the elements of our equation. Knowing that we stand to gain a lot from our inferences, we are encouraged to define all constituents element of this discourse.

Unlike psychoanalysis or genetics which are at present in their formative years, philosophy had taken shape hundred years before, growing to maturity and giving birth to many studies. Philosophy had become so old that it had lost its ability to grow- making Hawking and likes to report it as dead. Dead as it may be- philosophy had given us a great legacy by which we can confront almost every societal problems because it started by asking the right questions.

“How did it all start” and “what stuff is reality made of?”

Discussing Logos might be very difficult unless we start by asking the right questions as the ancient Greeks had, which had translated to enlightenment, scientific revolution and then, the great civilization of many nations. The rift between the materialist and the idealist is unnecessary here, as the primal substance of reality is both idealistic and materialistic. The dual nature of logos is one of the first principles we need to familiarize ourselves with to make headway in our discussion. Today, we have found parallel occurrence in virtually every known substance. Whether reality is made of substance (particle) or word (wave) as depicted in the Christian scripture mattered less to the Platonists and the Aristotelians. According to Everett Knight in The objective society, one started with idea, another made it the goal of their investigations, and neither doubted the existence11. We tend to gain more by asking the question of origins for it is then that we can give meaning to the seemingly meaningless cycles of problem and problem solving of nations.

Ever since Redshift had been observed in the celestials, the science community had been shocked into the scriptural truth that our human reality was not finite, that there was a beginning. While we wish them luck who seek to know the mind of the ultimate designer through science, or that force that caused the Big Bang, we have decided in our discussion, to adopt the gospel of John as the starting point in achieving that task.

In the beginning was the logos and the logos was with God and the logos was God. #logos #primordialsubstance #trinity
