Such a Good Feeling: Building on Gratitude to Reach One More Dream

Yesterday, we explored the power of waking up with “such a good feeling,” that sense of knowing that your life is unfolding beautifully. Today, I want to take this further and connect it to the idea of one more dream—because it’s that feeling of deep gratitude and inner certainty that propels us to keep dreaming and moving forward.

When we feel anchored in gratitude and acknowledge the truths we know deep down, we’re building an unwavering belief in ourselves. This belief is the foundation that supports dreaming one more dream—a dream that stretches us, inspires us, and keeps us growing.

Taking Action on Your Knowing

It’s one thing to bask in the warmth of gratitude and certainty, but what if we use those feelings as fuel for our next steps? Knowing you’re capable, loved, and aligned can be the launchpad for taking bold actions toward your dreams. Here’s how to turn that energy into meaningful progress:

  1. Reflect on What You Know and Want: Start by journaling about the things you’re grateful for and the certainties you hold. Use these as a lens to identify what dreams you want to pursue next. What’s the next one more dream that aligns with the life you’re creating?
  2. Set a Small, Dream-Focused Goal: Let that “good feeling” guide you toward setting an achievable yet exciting step forward. This could be a new project, an idea you’ve been considering, or even a shift in mindset. What’s one action that feels aligned with your knowing?
  3. Turn Gratitude into Motivation: Acknowledge that the deep sense of gratitude you feel is a sign of your strength. Use it to remind yourself that you’re not starting from scratch; you’re building on a foundation that’s already solid. What will you do today that connects your gratitude with progress?

Journaling Prompt: What’s one action I can take today, inspired by what I know and am grateful for, that moves me closer to my next dream?

Navigating Distractions and Limiting Beliefs

It’s easy to feel those moments of gratitude and certainty slipping away when life’s distractions and limiting beliefs sneak in. Doubts can creep up: Am I really capable? Is this dream too big? And with the busyness of everyday life, it’s all too simple to let those inner voices and distractions keep you from moving forward.

It’s one thing to feel anchored in gratitude, but another to maintain that focus when distractions arise or when old, limiting beliefs whisper doubts in your ear. These challenges can make it hard to connect with your dreams and keep moving forward. But here’s the reassuring truth: you’re not alone in facing them, and there are ways to gently move past these barriers.

The first step to reclaiming that “good feeling” and pursuing one more dream is acknowledging that these doubts and distractions are part of the journey. You are not alone in this; everyone battles their own versions of uncertainty and interruptions. The key is learning how to move past them:

  • Recognize and Reframe: When a limiting belief pops up—I’m not ready, I don’t have the time—pause and reframe it. Instead of “I can’t,” try “What if I took one step forward?” Journaling is a great way to identify these beliefs and transform them into thoughts that serve you.
  • Set Boundaries with Distractions: We live in a world full of constant pings and notifications. Take a moment to identify what distracts you the most and set boundaries. Schedule time for focused, uninterrupted work or reflection. Remind yourself that protecting this time is protecting your dream.
  • Reconnect with Your Support System: Sometimes, overcoming doubts means reaching out to those who inspire or support you. You’re not on this journey alone. Whether it’s talking to a friend, joining a community, or even reading stories of those who’ve faced similar challenges, these connections remind you that pursuing dreams is a shared experience.

Journaling Prompt: What limiting belief or distraction has been holding me back? How can I reframe it or take one step today to move past it?

It’s important to remember that everyone faces moments of doubt and distraction. Even those who seem the most confident or successful have had times where they needed to push through challenges and reconnect with their inner strength. You’re not alone on this journey, and there is a shared strength in knowing others are walking their own path toward one more dream, facing and overcoming similar obstacles.

From Knowing to Dreaming, to Doing

The journey from gratitude to one more dream doesn’t stop at reflection. It continues as you take inspired action, motivated by the certainty that you’re on the right path. These small actions, nurtured by your moments of deep knowing, are the building blocks that lead to bigger dreams and greater growth.

As you journal about gratitude and knowing, use this time to acknowledge what could potentially hold you back and plan how to overcome it. By being aware of your limiting beliefs and distractions, you empower yourself to take that one more step. The journey from gratitude to one more dream involves not just reflection but action and resilience.

This week, let your gratitude anchor you and your knowing propel you. Dream one more dream, take one more step, and embrace the joy that comes with pursuing a life filled with purpose and intention.
