Good for the Planet - Gender Parity

The latest data suggests that only 27% of women make up the technology workforce in the USA.

So - if we’re getting onto the subject of women working in clean technology, that’s an even greater gap that needs to be addressed now.

Right now – and for the future of our planet.

As the world fights climate change, industries supporting global net zero emission targets must catch up to ensure women are represented and included in the race to a greener and cleaner planet.

All STEM-oriented industries are challenged to ensure broader participation in the career accessibility of STEM-related careers positioned to be as gender-friendly as possible.

It is complex given the wide-ranging barriers that prevent women from choosing a career in STEM or staying within their career path – from pay disparity, unbreakable glass ceilings, lack of leadership or promotion opportunities, motherhood, and so much more; women are constantly running in water.

The rapid investment within the clean technology industries now means a call for an increased clean energy workforce – but the current tech talent market cannot support demand alone.

As innovation across clean technology speeds up, there will naturally be a burgeoning and urgent requirement for highly skilled technology specialists.

Now is the time for the industry to capitalize on the drive for skilled, clean technology professionals by tapping into a resource that creates diverse, gender-balanced work ecosystems - women.
