Recently John Mueller asked if is it good to do paid guest posts while it’s come to off page SEO activity?
John Mueller said to avoid paid guest post services you need to find the right path to do so where google is okay with it.
Over the period of time guest posts become more widely accepted and help websites to gain ranking with the help of link juice passed from one site to another.
Couple of years back Google Matt Cutts wrote a blog on Guest Blogging to be done. After a couple months google issued a series of penalties on guest post blogging sites. The penalties were on SEO who publish 5 or more than 5 blogs and websites too.
Like before now google doesn't have penalties because of that google does not pass any rank page on that.
Question: - “Recently when a question asked by a person regarding nowadays every site owner is asking for payment in exchange of link” So buying a link from a guest post site is against google policy?
Reply or Answer by John Mueller, Buying a link from Guest post site it is against the google spam policies. In particular these links are qualified and shouldn't affect SERP results.
You can get these link with rel=nofollow and rel=sponsored attribute which help google to identify the purpose of those links
It is absolutely fine to use your link for advertisement purposes but should follow attributes as mentioned.

Guest Post is a great way to advertise reading your website if it is properly marked as rel=nofollow or rel=sponsored attribute. It is good to use your product or service with a brand name that will help you to win half of the race. Guest posts are bad for building links if you fail to attribute an economical way to advertise your website.
