Google's next victim - Job Portals

A random search on Google gave me first glimpse of Google Jobs. It got me thinking of the profits Google will eat away from so many job search firms. The BIG 4 of technology Alphabet(Google), Facebook, Amazon and Microsoft fight for mindshare of all our waking times. They keep pushing us into screens ensuring that we do not have any life outside the Internet. While it seems they are fighting each other, in the process, they gain their strength and vitality by killing the smaller companies around the globe, each in its own method.

Amazon is a swift killer, it comes into your market, redefines the pricing, resets the margins to zero and ensures that whosoever remains in the game remains at the cost of feeding on their own blood. It rarely acquires them, and is only interested in complete monopoly. The sector it enters is bound to see a bloodbath.

Google is a parasite. It starts with no function of its own and just supports the sector by giving it reach and hence growth. Meanwhile it learns the functions of its host and then starts changing its colors gradually, keeping the customers to itself a little longer than before. Gradually, it starts sucking the blood of its host, as its share for bringing each client keeps growing. Finally, the host is allowed only as much that will let it survive.

Facebook is a usurper, it keeps increasing its fences. It invites you into your world, shows you the fantasy land where customers will arrive to you in hordes. Once you’re inside, you realize that everything you do is controlled by the rules of fantasy land. You can have fun but you cannot leave. It also kills, but only companies which are into business of fantasy.

Microsoft is a silent killer, a behemoth which slowly moves but just by the virtue of its size and number of tentacles, it is dangerous. Each of its tentacles have a habit of growing, and end up killing the little ones under their weight.

Apple is the biggest of them all, but I find it least lethal. It is both huge and nimble, and whatever that comes in its way will be crushed. But its primary growth comes by defining and opening new avenues.
