What Brings Happiness?
One of the fundamental causes of our suffering stems from our failure to accept life as it is. Instead of embracing its inherent nature, we often attempt to mold it according to our desires, inevitably leading to unhappiness.
This relentless attempt at altering reality to fit our expectations is at the heart of our suffering.
The solution, however, lies in a simple yet profound act: opening our eyes each day and recognizing the blessings that surround us.
The very act of waking up and being able to perceive the world is a privilege we often take for granted. Merely existing on this planet is an immense gift for which we should be profoundly grateful. This awareness allows us to acknowledge the impermanence of everything in our lives. This impermanence transforms each passing day into a precious treasure. It compels us to contemplate a vital question:
How shall I use this day?
Will I be fortunate enough to experience another one?
In understanding the transitory nature of existence, we are motivated to make each day as meaningful and purposeful as possible.
Realizing that life owes us nothing is a genuinely empowering revelation. Every breath we take, every moment we perceive, and every sensory experience we encounter are blessings that simply surpass our ability to appreciate the magical ordinary fully. The simple act of opening our eyes each day and witnessing the beauty that surrounds us becomes an empowering reminder that WE ARE GIVEN THE GIFT OF BEING ALIVE. From the aroma of freshly baked bread to the playfulness of children and pets around us, these experiences are all blessings that demand our unwavering awareness and gratitude.
What more is there to be absolutely grateful for?
The love, affection, friendship, and support we receive from others are pure gifts. No one in this world owes you and me anything.
And let me repeat this again: life itself owes nothing to you and me as well.
And when life takes an unexpected turn, and we lose friends or loved ones, we must respond with gratitude rather than complaint or sorrow. Each moment we shared with them, each second, each minute, was a precious gift.
