Gratitude
There are moment in your life, that you cannot predict.
Moments, that come along and cause immense worries.
They put your life upside down, tear your legs away and don't let you find any balance.
The worries seem to drive you insane.
There is not even a chance of finding sleep.
Night after night, you seem to wake up scared every now and then and you hope that somehow, sometime you will find rest.
As a dad or a mom this is often the case, when your child is not well.
One of these moments had become exhausting reality in our lives.
One of our sons has lived with repeated heart surgeries his whole life.
Almost 17 years it was an up and down for him, feeling good and really bad at times.
Since things were particularly bad for him this year, we all decided for the option of transplant. Without knowing if there would be a suitable heart for him anytime soon.
One day, almost a week ago, a day we will never forget, everything went so fast.

He was offered a donor heart; he went through surgery and is now (although still unstable) on his way to recovery.
I cannot start to express the gratitude, which we all feel as a family.
Gratitude for a person, who had the kindness to donate their heart to another person, even if he/she was not able to continue living.
Gratitude that modern medicine is capable of creating these miracles.
Gratitude towards the medical staff who take care of our son and are doing everything they possibly can to give him a new life.
Gratitude that we have a little fighter, a kind-hearted person, who gives everything to stay here and to make others smile with his kindness.
And of course, also gratitude for his brothers, who always stand by him and give him strength.
Life is so valuable, the people who surround us are so valuable.
Let’s show gratitude, for everyone who keeps us company or has done in the past.
