GREAT event launches in Slovenia

It was a pleasure to be invited to Slovenia to assist HM Ambassador to Great Britain and help launch the GREAT campaign at the Mercator Siska supermarket store .

We started the event by holding a canape function at the British residency before travelling on a traditional British double Decker bus ( my did that bring back a few memories!) through the streets of Ljubljana and on to the superstore.

The stores team certainly put on a fantastic show as we were greeted by look and soundalike beetles tribute band, a fine "come dancing" display in front of a mini cooper , with flags, British designed umbrellas , large replicas of Big Ben and red telephone booths and needless to say a host of British based producers and ingredients entering the store for the first time for everyone to taste and enjoy.

I also had the pleasure of creating the canapes and giving a talk at the Ambassadors residence as well as judging an in store sandwich competition between Slovenian foodie bloggers incorporating all British ingredients.

It was certainly a GREAT show.
