Great Leader in the Spotlight: Nicole Amelio-Casper

Nicole Amelio, M.A. is the Award-Winning Founder, Director and Producer of Amelio Media , which is dedicated to excellence in documentary filmmaking. She tells powerful stories that catalyze lasting change and draw attention to the narratives of Military Veterans and their Families, our Heroes. Recently, I had the privilege of interviewing Nicole, and she shared the following insights: 

1. Why do you love what you do?

“I’m passionate about storytelling because it allows me to connect with people on a profound level. As a filmmaker, I have the privilege of capturing the essence of someone’s journey and preserving it for future generations. It’s not just about creating films; it’s about honoring lives, experiences, and legacies.” 

2. What makes your mission unique?

“My mission is deeply personal. I’m committed to serving others by telling their legacy stories—inspiring stories that are meaningful, impactful, and often untold. This work isn’t just a career for me; it’s my God-given gift and purpose, to help people preserve their stories in a way that resonates with others. The military veteran stories I've filmed is my way of serving and giving back. most of best friends are veterans and some family members as well. They have become family.” 

3. Who is the leader who has inspired you the most and why?

“There are three leaders I admire — Sherice Scott and Jax Scott and Tiquita Stewart. They have incredible stories and are incredible leaders. They embody selflessness, compassion, and resilience—qualities I strive to bring into my own work. Their ability to serve others with grace and dedication has motivated me to lead with empathy and purpose in every story I tell.”
