Green cities, often a gray area
Noise, traffic, illegally parked cars, air quality, low freedom of movement for pedestrians, dirty streets and sidewalks, insufficient green spaces are just some of the things that turn cities in Europe into sources of frustration and negative emotions. But cities should “spark joy”, they should be places where people feel safe, healthy and happy. And leaders should want to make people want to stay.
Latest studies show that 71% of EU transport emissions come from road transport. Electric vehicles, in all shapes and sizes, and a durable charging infrastructure CAN help cities reduce harmful emissions, improve public health and sustainability, boost economic development & job growth, have more responsible businesses and protect residents.
But often the transition to green cities meets a gray area, where knowledge (or the lack of it), policy (and politics), capital or simply the power of habit force leaders or businesses to be hesitant or delay actions and initiatives that can have positive environmental and live impact on cities and citizens.
Change is in the air
Looking at how Paris, Amsterdam or Olso aim to phase out combustion engine cars by 2030, we feel that change is inevitable.
The Green Cities Forum in Brașov, 4th to 10th September is also about CHANGE. The event, in its third edition, will bring together experts, representatives of local and national authorities, companies, NGOs, and citizens who choose action and accelerate the transition towards greener, more sustainable cities. With the theme "Changing Perspectives. Embracing Transformation. Choosing Action. Together.", this year's edition proposes an International Environmental Policy Conference, an Exhibition Salon of Green Solutions, and Activities for the general public. It will be an opportunity to showcase the latest innovations and perspectives in the field of sustainability and to interact with experts from various domains, such as sustainable urban planning, green mobility, renewable energies, circular economy, and much more.

Why we should pay attention
Since we have introduced the e-Mobility Rentals electric vehicles solution on the local and European market, steps have been taken by EU and national governments toward greener cities. Already in Europe we have over 250 Low Emissions Zones and we are looking forward to Romanian authorities greenlighting the law that encourages the use of less polluting and more sustainable means of transportation in certain areas of the cities, such as bicycles, public transport, electric or hybrid vehicles.
The clarity and the ambition that the public, private and non-governmental sectors are showing in turning Brașov into a smart, modern and future proof community, convinced us to become partners of the Green Cities Forum in September. Christian Macedonschi ; Eduard Dumitrascu
Money efficient, agile, clean, user friendly and durable, the electric vehicles provided by e-Mobility Rentals are easy to integrate into a variety of transport and logistics scenarios and can bring municipalities or companies closer to ESG goals. And we want to be a part of change because we are committed to providing measurable benefits for businesses and cities that want to transition to a smarter, cleaner model.

Quote
“As urban environments continue to face the challenges of congestion that generates tons of carbon emissions and limited transportation options, it is crucial to embrace innovative solutions that can transform cities into thriving, sustainable hubs where people LOVE to live. Municipalities CAN start their own, customized electric mobility process of reshaping their community, setting an example for others to follow. For that we give our full support” – Eduard Anghel , CEO e-Mobility Rentals.
