NEWSLETTER Nr. 3
To our new Readers:
We want to use this format to stay in close touch with those who share our Vision (A not so distant future where Sustainability will be priced into products and services) and that want to join our Mission to accelerate the adoption of sustainable lightweight technologies.
From our everyday work, we know that we are a community of highly motivated and passionate people. This Newsletter has the purpose of bringing this community closer together.
We will use it to share with you a periodic and consolidated overview of our work, but we also want to emphasize that this is not a one-way street: If you have any questions or relevant content, please contact us via newsletter@green-boats.com.
Best Wishes,
Your GREENBOATS TEAM
JEC WORLD 2023
This Edition of the Newsletter is all about the JEC World 2023, taking place in Paris from April 25-27. We want to use the opportunity to talk more about our cooperation with other companies in the industry. We all work on different areas of the supply chain and without the exceptional work of our partners, we would not be able to build our products and serve our customers. Their work is part of our product. If you are visiting the JEC, use the chance to visit our partners.
We firmly believe that we are just at the beginning of a fundamental change in our industry. Now is the time to build the infrastructure for the products of the future. Join us and our partners.
In the following a short route via the trade fair grounds> All the places where you can find GREENBOATS materials/ products and meet some of our partners.
FX27 Daysailer > Industry Planet Hall 5
See the Flax27 Daysailer live! Use the opportunity to talk to our team members to learn more about the materials and processes that went into building this exceptional piece of boatbuilding history.
We often refer to the Flax27 as our Business Card because she embodies all the possibilities of Natural Fibre Composites (NFCs) in terms of aesthetics, performance (10% lighter than the comparable GRP design), and sustainability (entirely built out of Flax Fibres and Plant-based Resin. For the Flax27 we use the Greenpoxy Range of Sicomin > Hall 6, G43).

KARL MAYER > Hall 5 L 24
Composite Technologies – KARL MAYER is the leading company when it comes to the development and manufacturing of the machines needed for the processing of reinforcement fabrics. You can imagine how excited we were about the opportunity of working together.
Our first project was the development of a 400- and 600 gsm flax fibre biaxial non-crimp fabric. The result is a real game-changer for us. It is exactly the product range we have been looking for in the market.
To discover more about the newest processing technologies for reinforcement fibers, be sure to visit Karl Mayer's booth at their exhibit.
Groupe Depestele > Hall 5 C 39
Groupe Depestele processes more than 30,000 tons of flax fibers every year and offers a range of flat, untwisted flax rovings to the composite industry.
Their Rowing is the basis for many of our fabrics. Our final components are built upon the foundation of our high-performance fabrics, which are themselves based on the exceptional work of our predecessors. As their customers, we benefit from their research and development efforts over the years. For more information on their impressive achievements, we encourage you to visit their stand.
On their stand in Hall 5, C39 you will also find samples of GREENBOATS Reinforcement fabrics as well as GREENBOATS Panels.
Cobra International > Hall 6 E 28
Greenboats is excited to announce a new partnership with Cobra International , aimed at offering custom Natural Fibre Composites (NFC) components at scale. This strategic partnership combines Greenboats' expertise in sustainable composites and product development with Cobra's scale and superior unit economics. As a result, customers can expect a better customer experience, faster product development, and increased production scale.
Greenboats brings its leading processing know-how and product development infrastructure to the partnership, ensuring that each product undergoes a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to compare the costs, performance, and sustainability of different manufacturing options. Meanwhile, Cobra, a leading composite producer, brings its production scale and decades-long reputation as one of the worldwide leading OEM suppliers.
The partnership is expected to create a new standard in custom NFC components at scale, enabling both companies to leverage their strengths to meet the increasing demand for sustainable composite components.
The first customer project is a home charging unit for Electric Cars (Wallbox), which will be displayed on the Cobra Booth no. E28, Hall 6 at JEC WORLD in Paris from 25-27 April 2023.
Thanks for mentioning and good luck in Paris. See you soon GREENBOATS Technologies.
