In the Grip of the Flood
Where once stood homes, now water reigns,
A watery expanse, a world in chains.
The river's fury, unleashed and wild,
Sweeps away all, leaving nothing mild.
The humble earnings, the fruits of toil,
Lost in the deluge, a bitter spoil.
The hopes and dreams, the plans so grand,
Sinking beneath the flood's relentless hand.
Yet, amidst the chaos, a glimmer of light,
The human spirit, shining ever bright.
Hands reach out, in rescue's art,
To mend the broken, a new start.
For when the waters recede and the sun breaks through,
A new resilience will bloom anew.
From the ruins of loss, a stronger will rise,
To face the future, with hope in their eyes.
The flood may test, it may try to break,
But the human spirit, it will never forsake.
For in the depths of despair, a strength will be found,
To rebuild and rise, on higher ground.
So let us stand together, in solidarity's embrace,
To help those in need, to leave no one's space.
With hearts united, we'll weather the storm,
And emerge from the flood, stronger and warm.
