Growing Together at JAM 2024

Growing Together at JAM 2024

This year marks the 35th anniversary of BCCAT. It is also the 15th year that BCCAT has hosted the Joint Annual Meeting (JAM), and the 10th anniversary of the BCCAT Transfer Awards, so there was much to reflect on and to celebrate at JAM 2024!

This year's theme was "Growing Together", and the sessions brought into focus where we are today, and the road ahead for us as an ever-evolving transfer ecosystem.

There were 22 sessions over two days. One panel discussion looked at "The Impact on Transfer Due to Changes to International Study Permits"; the topic generated lively discussion leaving attendees with food for thought going forward. (Special thanks go to all of our amazing JAM 2024 speakers!)

This is always my favourite conference - not only do I come away with great data, but it is also a great opportunity to discover trends in post-secondary education and advances BCCAT is making in technology and research. I really appreciated the sessions on ABE and Associate Degrees. I also really enjoyed the panel comments on the IRCC changes and what that means for the future of this industry. (JAM 2024 attendee)

The event drew 388 participants who participated in a variety of ways; submitting questions, joining in discussions, sharing reflections and learning, and offering suggestions on how to modernize the BC Transfer System for the future.

This year--for the first time--BCCAT also hosted a Viewing Party to accommodate individuals wishing to gather together on the "Online Only" day. Those who participated enthusiastically jumped in and made the most of this opportunity to share and connect, so it is likely there will be more JAM viewing parties to come!

Thank you to all of the organizers and presenters! JAM 2024 was very engaging and the sessions covered very relevant topics to today's articulation and credit transfer landscape. (JAM 2024 attendee)

Participants also joined in the fun, competing in the "Celebrate Good Times Photo Contest" and the "Back to the Future Trivia Quiz" contests. And those who browsed the "History Corner" were able to learn more about the history of BCCAT and BC's remarkable post-secondary transfer community. Thanks to everyone who participated at #BCCATJAM2024!
