Aviation Leaders Convene at Flight Safety Foundation Safety Summit

Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury and Flight Safety Foundation President Dr. Hassan Shahidi lead the 76th annual International Aviation Safety Summit (IASS) in Paris from November 6-8, focusing on the role of innovation and collaboration in enhancing aviation safety. Opening the event, Faury, also the president of GIFAS, emphasized the importance of shared knowledge in the industry, especially following the recent challenging periods for aviation. The summit promises to deliver strategic insights into safety advancements with leading aerospace executives and specialists participating in discussions and workshops. Virgin Atlantic Cleared for 100% SAF Transatlantic Flight

The UK Civil Aviation Authority has granted Virgin Atlantic authorization to conduct the first-ever transatlantic flight using 100% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) from London Heathrow to New York JFK on November 28, 2023. This follows extensive technical evaluations, including ground tests on a Rolls Royce Trent 1000 engine, and is part of a collaborative effort with Boeing, Rolls-Royce, BP, among others, backed by the Department for Transport. The initiative, confirming safety as a priority alongside innovation and sustainability, aims to significantly reduce aviation emissions, supporting Virgin Atlantic's commitment to 10% SAF usage by 2030. Enter Air Flight Diverts to Athens Due to Windscreen Crack

Enter Air flight ENT4236, a Boeing 737-81M with registration SP-ESH, en route from Marsa Alam, Egypt to Katowice, Poland, diverted to Athens, Greece, after the aircraft's windscreen cracked mid-flight around 10:00 local time. The aircraft, carrying passengers on a scheduled service, landed safely with no reported injuries and minor aircraft damage. Following the incident, passengers were provided with assistance at Athens Airport while awaiting a replacement aircraft to continue their journey to Poland.
