Happy Birthay Australia!!!
Australia Day, January 26 2018
On the last January 26 I had the opportunity to enjoy the city of Sydney and the celebration of the day of Australia. It was an incredible day that ended with some fantastic fireworks.
Really the integration of this great nation to the Asian continent is enviable, not only for the business opportunities that this link generates, but also for its cultural integration enhanced by the hundreds of thousands of Asian university students who come to Australia to develop their university studies. and then they return to their countries of origin having developed sources of international contacts that later help to develop their professional careers.
Speaking with Noel Campbel, Ambassador of Australia in Buenos Aires, he told me how generous the Argentine Republic is when he provides free university education of a very high international cost to foreign students in exchange for absolutely nothing, even though his fiscal deficit remains high.
It is striking how Argentine workers happily pay their taxes knowing that they keep foreign students coming to get free education and go back to their countries.
In Australia, education is recognized and valued by locals and foreigners, but those students who come to receive training and then return to their countries must pay for their education. These revenues help Australian state universities keep their accounts balanced, reinvest permanently in equipment and research and not be a burden on the state, much less a tax cost for citizens who work and pay their taxes.
Australia is a fantastic country, with an enviable quality of life for most of the countries of the world, cosmopolitan, peaceful, beautiful and with a continuous economic growth for more than 15 consecutive years. Congrats!
Happy Birthday, Aussie!!!
