Happy New Year

As we say goodbye to 2020 I’d like to wish each and everyone of you a happy and healthy New Year. 

The last twelve months have been difficult and challenging for many reasons. We have lost loved ones, we have lost freedoms and we have lost opportunities from events outside of our control, and my heart goes to all of those who have suffered loss. But what we have not lost is our undying spirit and ability to always see the best in every situation. 

It’s for this reason that I am not joining the ‘let’s forget 2020 ever happened’ bandwagon, but instead giving thanks for all that this year did bring, which was a huge amount, albeit not what I had expected. And therein is the lesson, when we expect too much we often end up disappointed. 

Before you close the door on this year take a little time to think back over all that was good, you might be surprised at just how many rays of light there have been. Let these be the moments that define your year. 

Not for one moment am I saying I would have wished for it to happen this way, but actually this past year has given me so much, it has opened my eyes to a world around me that I was often too busy to see. It has allowed me to focus my time and energy on new projects, to follow new passions and to remind myself that above all else the two things that are the most important are my family and my health. 

It has also given me an even greater level of gratitude not only for my Forever business, but the incredible people both at the head offices of the company, as well as those in my team. I have alway known Forever and the people I have the privilege of working with are special, but this year, during tough times, the company and the people have shone brighter than ever before. I thank each and every one of you for standing tall, staying positive and believing in yourselves and our industry. 

If next year I have little more than my health, family and business I will be happy, everything else will be a bonus. I long to travel again, I long to see friends, to hold my loved ones in a warm embrace and to see the smiles of others, but equally I know now is the time that we must continue to do our little bit and ensure that we emerge the other side of all of this. 

I step into this next chapter with optimism and belief that we, as a a race, can find a happier, healthier future, so long as we stand united. So as you prepare for the coming year do so with a heart full of kindness, with a mind open to new possibilities and a desire to explore new horizons.
