IT IS HARD
Every day I go to work as an IT professional and often feel…
- Misunderstood: People see me as just "the tech person" who fixes things when they break. They don’t see the hours of planning, troubleshooting, and forward-thinking that go into preventing issues before they happen.
- Not valued: Many don’t realize the complexity behind making everything run smoothly. When things are working, it’s like magic, but that magic only exists because of the countless hours spent behind the scenes making sure systems are secure, updated, and optimized.
IT can be a thankless job—when things go right, no one notices, but when they go wrong, we're the first to get the blame. Yet, it’s a role that’s crucial for every organization, quietly enabling progress and innovation in the background.
But despite all that, I keep going. Because technology isn’t just a job; it’s a passion. It’s the challenge of solving the impossible, the satisfaction of making things work, and the knowledge that even if it’s unseen, the work I do keeps the wheels turning for everyone else.
