But He Was My...

Many years ago, I fell asleep with the television on, only to be awakened by an intensely impactful scene.

A Russian mobster had caught up with the man who killed his brother. The mobster slowly walked toward the man sitting on the opposite side of the room. As he got closer, the killer of his brother pleaded for his life, saying to the mobster:

“Your brother was a thief, a dishonest man, vermin. Everyone hated him, even you. He spit on your name and embarrassed your family,” to which the mobster replied, “All of this is true...but he was my brother.”
