MEMBER OF THE MONTH

Natalia Del Bosque - García Cárdenas Inn '23

I am a recently graduated student of the Universidad Autónoma de Coahuila in Mexico. I am currently working in the State Congress, where my main responsibilities include supporting a congresswoman in administrative and public representation tasks. This involves researching and gathering information on matters of public interest to propose legislative initiatives, organizing events and meetings, assisting in drafting speeches, resolutions, and positions, and handling any other tasks related to her political agenda. I am also pursuing a master's degree in law with a specialization in governance and public policies.

During my studies, I was an exceptional student. I participated in more than 5 moot court competitions related to international law, human rights, and constitutional law, two of which were international. I also graduated with an outstanding average of 9.2 out of 10. I had a significant role in my school, serving as a student counselor, president of the International Law Students Association, the Eco Juris club, and a distinguished member of Phi Delta Phi.

I represented my school and my State as a young congresswoman in the Senate Parliament in 2022. I also represented Coahuila in the Program Semilla at the Center of Studies of Law (CEEAD), developing the necessary skills for competent legal practice, with a strong sense of professional ethics and social responsibility. I participated in research projects on legal education and professional practice, collaborating in activities aimed at strengthening justice-seeking institutions. I fostered teamwork through open dialogue that respected and valued diverse opinions among program members, based on respect and honesty.

I conducted a research internship that concluded with the publication of "Implementation of the so-called Olimpia Law against digital violence in Mexico" in 2021, as well as the publication of the legal article "Transfeminicide: The judgment of Vicky Hernández and others vs. Honduras before the Inter-American Court of Human Rights (2021)" in the Akademia Magazine.

In my professional experience, since I entered the university, I worked as an assistant in a tax firm, conducting research on current tax laws and regulations, analyzing financial and tax documents, preparing reports and legal documents related to tax matters, and communicating with clients and government agencies. I filed administrative claims and amparos from 2019 to 2021. I also contributed as a volunteer in a human rights center, assisting in the drafting of Amicus Curiae briefs, administrative liability lawsuits at the state level, and cases related to disappearances and gender-based violence in 2021.

Later that year, I completed an internship in the Presidency of the Criminal Court of the Judicial Power of Coahuila, where I was involved in the creation of the White Paper for the Judicial Power regarding specialized courts for cases of family violence against women. Afterward, I worked as a legal assistant in a Consulting Group Legal specialized in project development within the fields of manufacturing industry, energy and hydrocarbons, infrastructure and construction, technology, and foreign trade. I was responsible for preparing the State of Coahuila's 2021 Security Contributions Fund Report.

In February 2022, I joined Mexico Evalúa, a recognized organization specializing in public policies, contributing to the Transparency in Justice Program. My responsibilities included activities such as information research, news monitoring, document drafting, and transcriptions, including collaboration with the Procedural Justice Observatory of the Supreme Court.
