Health and safety's Wikipedia

The 2018 EBIS Health and Safety Law Update is the longest running annual health and safety law update by a mile. It succeeds year on year because it is extremely informative with a practical angle on fresh information. Topics this year include:

1) Gross negligence manslaughter sentencing. On July 31, 2018 the definitive guideline on sentencing manslaughter was issued. It applies from November 1, 2018. We will show how it heralds a sea-change in sentencing that should be of great interest to directors.

2) The Supreme Court case that changes what evidence can be considered in an appeal against a notice under HASWA.

3) The Appeal Court case that clarifies the responsibility of parents for subsidiaries.

4) Corporate safety standards, and factors driving change, including ISO 45001.

5) Non-HSE regulators prosecuting safety breaches and influencing safety.

6) Safety investigations under legal privilege...

... and many other topics. The programme is always so informative it prompted one delegate to call David and I who present it, "The Wikipedia of health and safety." Follow the link here, and if there is space left, book your place to bring yourself right up to speed.
