Healthy Planet Schools - India’s first intergenerational early years campus

Located in Noida, India, Healthy Planet Schools stand as a beacon of innovation, blending wellness, holistic education and forward-thinking design. With their vision “to nurture a love for learning through transformative experiences and environments, to create a healthier planet,” the school redefines the educational journey for students and their families alike.

During our time at Healthy Planet, we had the privilege of meeting founders, Dr. Arunabh Singh, and Ms. Sonal Anand Singh. As we walked around the campus, we witnessed how their innovative design and philosophy converge to create India’s first intergenerational early years campus. This remarkable institution not only fosters a love for learning among young minds but also establishes a vibrant, connected community that extends far beyond the classroom.

A campus designed for the whole family

Healthy Planet Schools is uniquely designed to bring families together to play a key role in the educational journey. The campus features thoughtfully curated learning spaces for young children, complemented by a co-working space for parents and grandparents. This intergenerational approach creates a space where family engagement is at the heart of the learning experience.

Further enhancing its role as a community hub, the campus boasts an organic café and a community library open to children aged 0 to 12, regardless of their school affiliation. Older siblings can participate in visual and performing arts enrichment programmes in dedicated studios, making Healthy Planet a central environment for shared growth and creativity.

At the heart of their philosophy is child-led learning. Students are empowered to make choices, explore their interests and take ownership of their education. With an exceptional student-teacher ratio of 6:1, every child benefits from individual attention, fostering deep engagement and personal growth.

Wellness at the core

From the moment we stepped onto the 40,000 sq. ft. campus, it was clear that wellness is central to the school’s ethos. Purpose-built for just 180 students, the campus includes five distinct nature-inspired play and learning areas, such as the Butterfly Garden, Treasure Garden Sand Pit and the rooftop Sky Field. These open-ended spaces encourage exploration and curiosity while fostering a connection with nature. 

Every last detail has been meticulously designed to support optimal learning conditions. Advanced air quality systems ensure a healthy atmosphere, while 4000K Swiss lighting mimics natural morning sunlight, ideal for concentration and engagement. Thoughtful acoustics create distraction-free spaces, further enhancing the serene educational environment.

The Learning Lab 

Healthy Planet Schools doesn’t gatekeep its innovations; instead, it actively shares them with hundreds of schools through The Learning Lab. This pioneering education research initiative champions early childhood pedagogy by integrating global best practices and cutting-edge brain research. By collaborating with over 220 schools worldwide, The Learning Lab continuously refines teaching methodologies and develops dynamic, forward-thinking spaces where learners can thrive. 

Recent focal points include multidimensional literacy and the creation of open-ended spaces designed to spark curiosity. These contributions not only enrich the Healthy Planet community but also shape and elevate global discussions about the future of education.
