Heart, Body, Mind, and Soul: The Holistic Approach of the TII Social Entrepreneurship Program

The Social Entrepreneurship Program (SEP) which is Executive Post Graduate Diploma in Social Entrepreneurship (EPGDSE) - by the Transforming India Initiative (TII) is more than just a post-graduate course—it’s a transformative journey designed to empower individuals with the knowledge, skills, and mindset to build responsible enterprises. This program is meticulously crafted to balance intellectual, physical, and spiritual growth, ensuring holistic development.

A Two-Year Journey of Self-Discovery and Impact, the social entrepreneurship program is structured to ensure seekers gain both academic rigour and practical exposure. The journey is divided into 8 months of facilitated learning and 16 months of experiential learning. This unique blend fosters a deep understanding of social entrepreneurship through immersive, hands-on experiences.

Structured for Success: A Holistic Curriculum

The social entrepreneurship program integrates a dynamic learning structure that equips seekers with the tools to create social enterprises. The curriculum, inspired by the interconnected aspects of the heart, body, mind, and soul, is divided into four transformative pillars:

  1. Self-Transformation (Soul): Focuses on inner growth and personal empowerment, enabling seekers to lead with purpose and integrity.
  2. Enterprise Mindsets (Heart): Seekers learn to cultivate empathy, resilience, and leadership for sustainable enterprise development.
  3. Entrepreneurial Skills (Body): Practical skills essential for enterprise operations are covered under this pillar.
  4. Enterprise Excellence (Mind): Designed to nurture visionary thinking and operational excellence.

This comprehensive curriculum enhances technical and managerial competencies while fostering a deeper understanding of social and environmental consciousness. It prepares seekers to navigate complexities and deliver meaningful impact.

Key Features of the Program:

  1. Sharing Circles: A unique activity that fosters a sense of community, openness, and shared learning among seekers. These circles create a safe space for participants to discuss challenges, insights, and personal growth experiences.
  2. Focus on Physical and Spiritual Health: Recognizing the importance of overall well-being, the program integrates activities and sessions that emphasize physical fitness and spiritual balance as essential components of leadership and resilience.
  3. Portfolio Projects: TII SEP encourages self-reflection and application through:

  • Practicum Learning Document: A detailed analysis of on-ground experiences during the program practicum period.
  • Autobiography Exercise: Seekers are guided to visualize their lives 40 years ahead, plan personal finances, and set long-term goals.
  • 4D Enterprise Design Document: Using the framework of Discover, Dream, Design, and Destiny, seekers develop comprehensive business plans for starting social enterprises.

4. Experiential Learning: The curriculum includes hands-on engagement with grassroots organizations, ensuring participants learn directly from the challenges and solutions of real-world scenarios.

5. Comprehensive Program Design: The program is built around four critical phases—building awareness, developing skills, practising implementation, and achieving impact.
