Height x Length x Width 📐 ? 2 tips to optimize your plant packaging 📦 dimensions 📊.
Just a disclaimer 💬 , this article was written on September 1 2021. Why do I say this? Because mail order companies can change their prices, surcharges and sizes about every quarter. Always check their current websites for the correct sizes.
You have them in all sizes from long-stemmed to full-grown, a plant is never the same, just as us. But the size of the packaging is often a generic size and cannot be changed quickly. As a plant shop, you want to send as little air as possible, so you need a perfect matching package. Before you make this choice, I would like to give you two tips to support you in this process.
Tip 1: Divide your plant assortment into categories 📂
You are the shop that sells the plants, so you can offer the perfect set of plants to your customer. So when you are creating the sets, look at how you are going to package them quickly, sustainably and easily. Then gather your entire assortment together and divide it into categories based on pot size, volume and height. This will ensure that you build much more structure when selecting an assortment. By selecting the same pot sizes and heights as much as possible, you can choose generic packaging for all your products.
This allows you to promote sets that are, for example, efficient to pack or/and send the minimum amount of air. So when creating your product, think of the whole production line.
Tip 2: What sizes do mail order companies 📮 use?
The mail order companies often apply a number of rules when it comes to packaging. Before you choose which shipping company will put your package through the meat grinder, look at the following overview.
