Here's why Crypto and Blockchain are Crucial for Progress.

Here's why Crypto and Blockchain are Crucial for Progress.

As a blockchain tech enthusiast and a start-up guy closely following the decentralization movement, I’ve heard unending arguments in favor of and against crypto.

Both sides are fair.

But today, I’d like to share my rationale for advocating it, especially considering my team at Kreatorverse Venture Studio and I work in the #DeFi space.

We’re aware of how a piece of paper printed by the federal bank of a country, obliged with the finance ministry of elected or selected government, gets immediate acceptance by the people. Yes?

A democratic (elected) government has the authority to value and devalue its paper currency in circulation. Foreign trade, monetary, and other public policies of governments have direct and indirect impact on the value of their country’s currency.

The common citizen is only concerned about whether they can buy essential goods and services using the currency earned as payment from the employer or customer for a living. They always trust that their government understands the value of their labour, skill, competency, creativity, and dignity.

Ask yourself this question.

Do you fully believe and 100% trust that the government formed by political parties truly appreciates every citizen’s time, energy, creativity, emotions, imaginations, passion, fantasies, skill, knowledge, and spirit of human life?

Even if some exceptional leaders do, do you believe there is a governance and administration system currently in place designed to capture and appreciate these values?

And even if some governance systems do, do you believe that they can evolve with time without getting tampered with, hacked, and hijacked by the selfishness of many?

We simply trust the currency issued by our government and the system in place; we trust that it works, and will continue to work in the best interest of every citizen.

Cryptocurrency makes us rethink and reimagine ways to assign value to what we need the most.

Beauty is in the beholder’s eye. A toddler values their simple toy which makes them laugh, greater than an overpriced iPad.

The value of any product or service is always determined by its beneficiary. Blockchain technology enables creators, beneficiaries, and stakeholder communities to collectively own and share the value generated. The values of people exploring Mars as a fly-by space tourism option are vastly different from the values of people exploring potable water options in drought-prone nations.

Digital currencies, in various forms, offer significant benefits to the common people by giving us more control, security, and access to financial services. With decentralized and secure digital money, we can manage our finances without worrying about government interference or censorship. This financial freedom is especially valuable in countries with unstable currencies, as cryptocurrencies can protect savings from inflation.

Faster and cheaper international transactions. Accessible financial opportunities for the underbanked. More transparency, less corruption. Such a system promotes a stronger and fairer global economy, benefiting everyday people by driving innovation and development.

The best part? It’s already in action.

Venezuela has faced hyperinflation, rendering the national currency nearly worthless. Many Venezuelans turned to Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies to protect their savings and conduct everyday transactions.

El Salvador adopted Bitcoin as a legal tender in 2021. One of the key reasons was to make remittances cheaper and faster for Salvadorans living abroad who send money home.

In countries like Kenya and Nigeria, where access to traditional banking services is limited, cryptocurrencies have enabled financial inclusion. Mobile-based crypto wallets have allowed people to save, transfer money, and even pay for goods and services without needing a bank account. BitPesa, a Bitcoin remittance service, has facilitated cheaper and faster international transfers, supporting local businesses and individuals.

Estonia has integrated blockchain technology into its public administration to enhance transparency and reduce corruption. The Estonian government uses blockchain to secure health records, ensuring that medical data is tamper-proof and transparent.

The Chinese government has developed its digital currency, the Digital Yuan, which aims to modernize its financial system and maintain control over monetary policy in the digital age.

In India, various states have implemented blockchain technology in land records departments to prevent fraud and corruption. Some are using crypto to facilitate international remittances so that migrant workers who work abroad can send money to their families in India faster, at a lower cost.

Digital natives value a system that is more evolved than the scarcity economics followed during the Industrial Revolution. Borderless, boundless thinking needs to be applied in designing a future world that keeps citizens at the center of it all.

Consider this an appeal, to global citizens who work for the welfare of society, to open up their minds toward a technology that has flaws, but also presents value pathways unlike anything else.
